About Us

The Monte Rio Variety Show began in 1911 to raise funds to build a Catholic Church in Monte Rio (St Catherine of Siena, a mission church of St Elizabeth Guerneville). The show has been going on uninterrupted since then, with two years of virtual performances in 2020 and 2021. The event is an evening of world class entertainment set in the redwood-rimmed Monte Rio Amphitheatre. Since 2004, St Catherine's has shared the proceeds with two other co-beneficiaries- the Monte Rio Fire Services Foundation and the Monte Rio School Foundation. All three beneficiaries are dedicated to community by supporting needs of the underserved, maintaining the legacy of St Catherine of Siena church, providing needed fire suppression materials and equipment and supporting arts and music in elementary school.
